WHAT IS A GAP ANALYSIS?

A gap analysis differs from market research in that it’s proactive rather than reactive.

A gap analysis (performed internally or externally) is an in-depth process that identifies sales opportunities where the demand is greater than the supply. Using this process helps a company identify markets that are currently underserviced.

Through the deployment of gap analysis an organisation can make logical and informed decisions based on market facts rather than opinion.

A gap analysis also includes looking at a company’s current strategy and resources and benchmarking these in order to compare yourself to competitors and best practices.

Performing a strategic analysis looks at your current state. It drills down on such things as: resources, finances, processes, footprint of locations, marketing, products, equipment, services, and costings.

This analysis helps you easily identify gaps and come up with go-to-market strategies that fill these gaps to achieve your goals faster.
